Aruba is a beautiful island offering many white-sand beaches, great trade winds and turquoise waters that make you wanna spend all day on the beach. If you adore scuba diving, Antilla Wreck is a great choice.
The spot is located on the northwestern coast of Aruba. The ship was scuttled on May 10, 1940, by its captain. It is one of the biggest shipwrecks in the Caribbean, about 121.9 m/400 ft long. There are many wide, open sections of the shipwreck, through which you can dive. Divers should be very careful, while some ship’s parts are unstable, as result of the storms. Nevertheless, it is a dive spot feasible to both beginners and advanced divers, with a low current. Antilla Wreck lies in a depth of 18.3 m/60 ft. The underwater visibility is quite good and ranges from 10 m/32.8 ft to 30 ft/98.4 ft. Furthermore, everyone who wanna dive into Antilla Wreck spot should bring a dive suit or rent one from a scuba diving school, because there is a steady fuel oil leak caused by a storm in 2009.
Aruba has a semi-arid climate with an average temperature of 28°C/82.4°F all year round. The water temperature fluctuates from 26.1°C/79°F to 28.3°C/83°F. Divers can practice their favorite activity here during all year, if there are ideal weather conditions. Aruba provides many reasons why it should be your next destination!!
