Swansea, Glamorgan
Swansea Bay is a large beach, extended along through the whole Swansea City.
Paros has typical Mediterranean climate with hot and dry summers with an average temperature of 35°C/95°F and mild winters with an average temperature of 10°C/50°F. During the summer months and especially on August, the strong “Meltemi” winds or else the Etesian winds blow from northwest to north across the Aegean, making Paros one of the top destinations for windsurfing.
Chrisi Akti Beach is the largest and the windiest beach on the island and is located in the south part of Paros. It is famous for its long, golden sand beach and the shallow, crystalline water and used to be a spot for the PWA World Cup competition. As situated in the channel created by the two islands of Paros and Naxos, the side shore thermal winds build up and reach a speed of up to 35 knots/65 kph within the small bay.
The weather conditions are suitable for both beginner and advanced windsurfers. If you choose to remain within the protected bay, the water is flat and perfect for speed windsurfing, while outside there are small waves perfect for freestyle windsurfing. Chrisi Akti Beach provides surfing schools and rentals as well as lifeguards, rescue boats and beach bars along with hotels and bus connection with all the main towns on the island. If you are looking for a windsurfing paradise in summer, the Paros island is definitely the place!!!
