Barbados is one of the Caribbean's popular destinations. It's located on the eastern side of the Caribbean and west of the Atlantic Ocean. It is also lying east of the islands of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Its capital city is Bridgetown.

Wreck SS Stavronikita is an interesting spot for Scuba diving, not to be missed. This spot can be dived by all levels of divers. The wreck is standing on the western side of the island, about 7 km/4.3 mi north-western of the capital. It is actually about 365.7 m/400 yd from the shore.

Stavronikita is a Greek freighter, 111.1 m/365 ft long, that was sunk on November 22, 1978. It’s a popular dive site in Barbados. The wreck is standing upright with its stern lying at 39.6 m/130 ft and its bow at 21.3 m/70 ft. An artificial reef has been created with rich marine life. The underwater visibility is quite good and it fluctuates from 10 m/32.8 ft to 30 m/98.4 ft. The temperature of the water averages 26°C/78.8°F all year round.

Finally, Barbados has a tropical climate and two main seasons. The wet season, lasting from June to November and the dry season, lasting from December to May. The temperature averages between 21°C/69.8°F and 31°C/87.8°F.
