Paphos is gifted with a Subtropical Mediterranean climate, with warm and rainy winters and an average temperature of 12°C/54°F and hot and humid summers, with an average temperature of 32°C/89°F and thus rock climbing is possible all year round. However, early spring and late fall is the best time to visit in order to avoid rainy days and heatwaves.
Dhiarizos Climbing Area is located northeast from Paphos town and is a beautiful site, situated on the road towards Troodos Mountain. The crags are two different rocks made of hard limestone and offer a wide variety of routes, that grade from F4 to F7b. Ideal for sport climbing, the rocks are divided in two sections and offer maximum fun to the rock climbing enthusiasts, as the spot is considered to offer some of the best sport climbing routes in Cyprus.
The first section is called Kourtelorotsos North and has a maximum altitude of 91.8 ft/28 m, while the second section is called Kourtelorotsos South and has a maximum altitude of  39.3 ft/12 m. Both crags offer more than 20 routes and many more yet to be discovered and are suitable for both beginner and advanced climbers. If you are visiting the spot during summer, it is advised to have plenty of water with you and climb on the shady sections of the rocks. Make sure to take with you a 164 ft/50 m rope and helmet.
