On the eastern shores of the Toledo Bend Reservoir, you will come across a fantastic Off Road Park opened all year round, perfectly suitable for quad biking. Cow Bayou ATV Park consists of marked, not rated, lightly maintained trails of 7 mi/11.2 km in length, placed deeply into woods.
The trails twist through a sundry pine forest along with deep water crossings and many mud puddles. The swamp-type trails are elevated from 180 to 220 ft/54.8 to 67 m and offer mud in most parts, hard pack, rocks and many trees with plenty of shade, especially pleasant during warm summer days.
There are a few hazards that are assumed to be marked, but caution is highly suggested, if you don’t want to get injured. The trails are mostly suitable for novices, but all levels of drivers will have a blast. There is no charging for any services, as the area belongs to the State River Authority.
Camping is primitive, so you should come prepared and bear in mind that the area bursts with insects and mosquitoes that can be very thick, so it is recommended to bring a repellent. This place is a must to visit, so why not spend the entire day driving your quad bike into the swamp-type trails and have an amazing experience!
