Zanesfield is the smallest incorporating village in Logan County, Ohio, USA. It is located about 40 minutes west from Delaware.
Although Zanesfield is small, it is a huge attraction to snow sport athletes all around Ohio, as near it lies one of the best ski resorts in the state, Mad River Mountain. This resort is known as one of the best ski destinations in the entire Ohio and its elevation has something to do with it.
It is situated at a base elevation of 1160 ft/353.6 m, while its summit elevation reaches 1460 ft/445 m. It is kind of impressive, if you consider that the highest point in the state is Cambell Hill at 1550 ft/472.4 m. Although Mad River Mountain cannot rival the ski resorts found in Colorado, Utah, Vermont and other states, it keeps visitors very pleased with the 300 ft/91.4 m vertical drop, the 3 terrain parks and a mix of trails to suit all levels of skiers.

From the 144 ac/0.58 km², the 58 ac/0.23 km² are groomed and from these, the 19.2 ac/0.07 km² are for beginners, 11 ac/0.04 km² are for intermediate skiers and 27.9 ac/0.11 km² are for advanced skiers. In the facility, you will find a ski school, so if you have no idea how to use your skis, there is a very qualified personnel to show you.
