Lewis Center is situated in northwestern Orange Township, Delaware County, Ohio, USA. It is an unincorporated community standing between Columbus and Delaware.
Mountain Biking is a fun sport and if you are not having fun, then you are doing something wrong. One of the best trails to enjoy adventurous mountain biking in Ohio and specifically in Delaware is Alum Creek State Park Trail Phase 1.
It is a rolling 6 mi/9.6 km singletrack trail that offers bridges, short climbs with small obstacles, roots and creek crossings. After a long rain, some spots are in muddy condition, so many new re-routes have been constructed to reduce these conditions. Still, after continuous rain, you will have to wait 3 days, in order to allow proper drying and ride this awesome trail.
During summer, the trail is being used extensively, receiving between 200 and 400 users per week. The trail is perfect for intermediates and beginners, as there are some very smooth parts. Bear in mind that there is a seasonal closing from March 1st to May 15th. If you enjoy riding your mountain bike in the night, the trail is open until 11:00 pm.
The average rating of the trail between bikers, that have already ridden it, is 4/5. Overall, it is a great trail system for people in shape and those who have never ridden MTB before.
