In Northbrook, a Chicago suburb, you will come across one very popular skatepark, the Northbrook Skatepark, perfect for roller skating. It is one of the newest concrete parks in Chicagoland, where a totally different approach, considering other skateparks, has been used by the community for the building of this skatepark.
The spot is a part of a massive athletic complex with many other sport fields. The park has a spread out mellow area, which flows into deeper and deeper areas. The metal copings cover about 80% of the lip, while the rest is gone. In the middle you will meet a big hump, which kind of mimics a spillway.
Around the outskirts are some fun ledges, bumps and ramps. The bigger bowl is connected to the rest of the park by a channel, which is a rounded off hump. The lines are easy to find and you can keep your speed. The design of the park is wise, as it is a multiple skill level park. The runs usually end up petering out back in the end.
Features are divided into skate and urban. In the skate part there are a street course, a quarter pipe, a vertical ramp, the bowls and others and in the urban part there are rails, curbs and others. Northbrook Skatepark is worth a visit, in order to enjoy a nice session on your rollers.
