Wanaka is a small town in Central Otago in the South Island of New Zealand, situated on the south side of Lake Wanaka.

The mountains generally are so inaccessible that only one form of skiing can be more intrusive like in some more developed regions. Heli skiing is the only form of skiing that allows reaching slopes that cannot be reached otherwise.
The Elbrus mountain, as being the highest in Europe and in western Asia with more cold and stable weather, guarantees excellent heli skiing conditions. Great snow conditions are offered from December through May.
The descent length varies depending the condition of slopes and the amount of snow. Usually it is about 1300 m/4265 ft. This descent is made freestyle and is extremely dangerous, as mother nature is unpredictable, so you don’t know what you are about to meet.
It is suggested to take some skiing lessons, even if you have fluency and never try this alone. If you take every precaution, the possibility of injuries is limited, but still exists.
