The Turks and Caicos Islands lie in the Lucayan Archipelago and are a British Overseas Territory consisting of eight islands: West Caicos, Providenciales, East Caicos, South Caicos, North and Middle Caicos, Grand Turk and Saly Cay. Only East and West Caicos are uninhabited. Apart from a superb tourist destination, they are also well-known as an offshore financial center. The climate of the islands is classified as marine tropical, providing relatively consistent temperatures throughout the year.

Providenciales boasts beautiful, sandy beaches with crystal, clear waters that attract watersport enthusiasts from all over the world. Turtle Tail is situated Îżn the south side of the island and is a nice kiteboarding site, especially for those looking for flat waters.

It is a small, protected bay that is great when the wind blows from the south and southwest. In addition, the optimum period to visit the spot is during summer, with steady winds between 15 knots/27.78 kph and 25 knots/46.30 kph. When the location provides the right wind conditions, kiters can ride straight out to the ocean. Turtle Tail is suitable for kiters of all skill levels.

The water temperature varies between 24 °C/75.2 °F and 30 °C/86 °F. Keep in mind that you can find flat and choppy waters with small waves inside the cove. Last but not least, there are many kiteboarding schools operating close to the spot, where you can arrange lessons and gear rentals.
