Almeria has a subtropical Mediterranean climate with hot summers and warm winters. It offers one of the sunniest, warmest and driest climate in Europe with low annually rainfall. With an average of 8.5 hours of daily sunshine, temperature varies from 26°C to 30°C/78.80 to 86°F during summer.
Water temperature from June to August is around 22°C to 28°C/71.60 to 82.40°F and from January to March is around 15°C/59°F. Also there are about 3 rainy days during summer, and 20 during winter. Wind strength is about from 1 to 3 Bft with April being the softest month and wind direction west to south west. Swell direction is west-southwest, with waves about 1 m/3 ft, not outreaching 2 m/6 ft.
If you want to take your first windsurfing steps, visit Mar Menor, in Murcia, it’s the ideal learning spot. Another great spot is Playa de Aguadulce. Best time to visit is during summer, where there is a lot of windsurfing activity going on.

Lac de Monteynard-Avignonet is an artificial water reservoir serving the Électricité de France power station of Drac Station.
