Playa del Carmen is situated on the eastern side of Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico and belongs to Quintana Roo state.

Playa del Carmen was a small fishing town, with unspoiled natural and marine beauty. Today, this place shows us that it has the potential to move with the times, becoming one of the most famous tourists destinations. For having a perfect activity, the spot offers you great wind and water conditions. The wind direction is to the North, North-East and South-East. As for the wind’s strength, it ranges from 10 to 20 kn / 19 to 37 kph. The best season for performing kite-surfing is from January to December, when the winds are pretty strong and enables you for some challenging tricks.

The waters are very clear and clean and its type is flat to choppy. There are also some shallow areas near the shore that you have to be careful. The climate in Playa del Carmen is tropical. That means pretty high temperatures during all year round. More specifically the temperature averages from 23.8°C/75°F-29.4°C/85°F while the water’s temperature averages at 26.1°C/79°F. Rainfalls are usual phenomenon during the hurricane period that lasts from September to November.
