Freight’s Bay is located on the South Coast, just above the town Oistins. It is a famous beach that gathers many surfing enthusiasts at any period of the year. Thanks to its great surfing conditions, the spot is known as a main surfing destination and during week days it is possible to be overcrowded.
The spot offers a quite easy access, as you have to climb down a cliff in order to reach the beach. Once you set foot at this surfing paradise, you will realize that Freight’s Bay is a perfect place to exercise this activity. This bay is addressed both to experts and novices of surfing. The wave type is point-break, its direction is from left, the sea bottom is sandy with some rocks, while the wave power is hollow and fast.
The normal length is short (50 m/164 ft) and during good days very long (300 to 500 m /984 to 1640 ft). The swell direction is from Southwest, South and the swell size starts working at 1.5-2 m /5-6 ft and holds up to 3 m+ / 10 ft+. In addition, the best wind’s direction is north.
