For passionates with mountain bike, the Dolomites mountain group is the top destination. Trentino, in the west side of the Italian Dolomites, is one of the hottest points of the international bike scene.
Val di Sole and Val Rendena are presented as the valleys of the championships. The World Mountain Bike & Trials Championship of 2008 took place on the spot as well as the 2011 Mountain Bike World Cup Finals. The Downhill World Cups and the International 4X Circuit of the 4X Pro-Tour, both for men and women was also held there in August of 2012, precisely in Commezzadura, in Val di Sole.
The routes are endless and all the itineraries are meticulously ascertained by experts. The path for easy ride and for families runs from Sarca Riverto Madonna di Campiglio, passing through Carisolo, Ragoli and Poste Pia for about four hours uphill. During summer period, the Madritsch Pass remains a snow free path for extreme bikers, although it’s situated in a remarkable height, at 2820 m/9251 ft. Over the past years, the ‘Dolomiti di Brenta Bike’ has become very fashionable. This mountain bike tour, in Trentino, through the western Dolomites, offers two options both for experts or families, depending on the biker’s level of difficulty. The tour can be completed in one or several days.
The experts’ option crosses many of the famous peaks of the Dolomites di Brenta, meeting even the 2000 m/6561 ft height for a distance of 171 km/106 mi. The second one, family variant, refers to those who prefer a more calm and enjoying bike tour in 136 km/84.5 mi long, amongst the uncontaminated alpine backdrop. On September 8th, 2013, Moena will be the host-town for the 5ft edition of the Polartec Val di Fassa Bike Race, part of the UCI MTB Marathon Series.
