Berthoud Pass is located between Idaho Springs and Winter Park and is one of the closest areas in Denver for skiing. It belongs to Boulder County and is just an hour away.
The top of the pass is at 11307 ft/3446 m and has access to a wide array of backcountry stashes. It is one of the earliest snowboard areas in Colorado with an annual snow fall of 300 in/762 cm. Vasquez Ridge is one of the best places for snowboarding. It has a vertical drop of 1214 ft/370 m. Maximum run length is 1.4 mi/2.2 km.
Top elevation is 10700 ft/3261 m and base elevation 9486 ft/2891 m. Level of runs is 10% for beginners, 35% intermediate, 3% advanced, 51% most difficult and 0% experts only.
There is a lift system of 25 lifts, including the Village Cabriolet, seven high speed express quads, six double chairlifts, two high speed six pack lifts, four triplets, one rope tow, three surface lifts and one platter. The lift capacity is 40000 riders/hour. There is snow making in 299 ac/1.21 km² for 26 trails.
