Berthoud Pass is located between Idaho Springs and Winter Park and is one of the closest areas in Denver for snowboarding. It belongs to Boulder County and is just an hour away.
The top of the pass is at 11307 ft/3446 m and has access to a wide array of backcountry stashes. It is one of the earliest snowboard areas in Colorado with an annual snow fall of 300 in/762 cm. Vasquez Cirque is one of the best places for snowboarding. Vertical drop is 1500 ft/457.2 m. Top elevation is 11900 ft/3627 m and base elevation 10400 ft/3170 m.
Level of runs is 0% for beginners, 0% intermediate, 2% advanced, 83% most difficult and 14% experts only, so experienced skiers will have a blast.
There is a lift system of 25 lifts, including the Village Cabriolet, seven high speed express quads, six double chairlifts, two high speed six pack lifts, four triplets, one rope tow, three surface lifts and one platter. The lift capacity is 40000 riders/hour. There is snow making in 299 ac/1.21 km² for 26 trails.
