Astun is located in the source of Aragon river, in the Pyrenees mountains near the borders of Spain with France. The station occupies two high mountain valleys, La Raca and Truchas each of which is accessible by a chairlift. The temperature varies from 2°C/35.6°F to 19°C/66.2°F throughout the year, with January being the coldest and August the warmest month. It is an ideal spot for many activities and excursions all around the year.
Astun offers many mountain bike trails but the main track is Ruso Canfranc Estacion. It is a 15.46 km/9.6 mi track in length, running from Astun, at a height of 1676 m/5498 ft, to Canfranc Estasion at 1246 m/4087 ft of altitude.
The first half of the track is uphill, reaching a maximum height of 2258 m/7408 ft. It is a difficult trail, appropriate for more experienced riders. There are training professionals that know the area very well, offering family or group trips to the natural environment of Astun. Bring your own equipment, or rent everything from nearby stores.
