Tamarack Lodge Resort is located in Mammoth Lakes, near Mammoth Mountain, in California’s eastern Sierra about 100 mi/161 km south of Nevada State line Mono County, California, USA.
Tamarack is unique, because it offers the only winter resort, complete with a full service Ski Center in Mammoth. It’s a resort, where outdoor activities are loved by hikers. You don’t need to have any survivor skills. The beautiful reflection of water, natural sights and forest sounds characterize fall and summer.
There are many trails you can follow that start from the front door of Tamarack Lodge. Make a stop on the front desk and ask for maps and advises from the experts. Panorama Dome, an easy 0.5 mi/0.8 km hike, is one of the trails from Twin Lakes.
Another one is Twin Lakes to Mammoth Mountain, a 3 mi/4.8 km uphill trail. There are three trails from Coldwater Campground. First one is Mammoth Consolidated Mine and Heart Lake about 1.5 mi/2.4 km hike. Second one is Emerald Lake and Sky Meadows about 3 mi/4.8 km hike. Third one is Duck Pass a 5 mi/8 km hike. There are two trails from Lake George.
TJ and Barrel Lakes about 2 mi/3.2 km hike and Crystal Lake and Mammoth Crest a 1.5 mi/2.4 km hike. Last there are trails from Horseshoe Lake. Horseshoe Lake Loop Trail, a 1 mi/1.6 km hike, McLeod Lake, a 0.5 mi/0.8 km hike and Crater Meadows and Red Cones, a 3.5 mi/5.6 km hike.
