The traditional owners of Yorke Peninsula are the Adjahdura Aboriginal people, whose land was spread from Port Broughton in the north to the Hammock Ranges in the east. Nowadays, Point Pearce and Wardang Island are considered to be aboriginal lands of the Adjahdura people.
The jetty is recommended for beginner divers due to each easy access. However, more experienced divers can take advantage of it since jetty’s depth reaches 8 m / 26 ft deep. Its unique location on the western side of the peninsula, Port Victoria’s Jetty often offers great visibility when a strong wind is blowing from the east, so the underwater currents won’t lead you away from the coast.
The L-shaped jetty can provide a lot of fun at night for those who enjoy catching snook. The town jetty is a good chance to observe squids, snook fishes, gar and big tommies at night and offshore there are plenty of snappers and big whiting.
