Duffy Creek trail is 8 mi/12.8 km long, out and back, an about five hours hike, with minimal elevation gain. The area is maintained by the Bureau of Land Management, as a wildlife refuge and it is worth exploring. You can hike away from the main road and admire spacious views from the Badger Mountain. The best time to hike this trail is from September through November.
You will come across fantastic wildflowers in the open slopes, mule deers, coyote, red-tailed hawk and many more wild animals and birds. As you hike up the trail, take a look at the canyon and admire the rock carvings. Duffy Creek Trail is a great hike, suitable for all skill levels, in a desert looking scenery, different from the alpine nature of the Cascades.
