Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's many apple cultivations.
Badger Mountain Road is located at the east of Wenatchee Town. It is 9 mi/14.4 km long until the Tree of Pain spot, and another 23 mi/37 km until the end of the paved road. The elevation gain is at 2700 ft/822 m and the difficulty level is category two, not suitable for beginners.
The average gradient of the terrain is 6% and the maximum 11%. The road goes mostly uphill and it is well traveled by cars, so cyclists should be careful. It is a wonderful long ride, with not many technical difficulties, but a good physical condition is required.
You will ride through an open space mountain road that leads to the summit of Badger mountain, if you decide to follow the road until the end. Badger Mountain Road is a great ride for bicycle enthusiasts to escape the city and take a deep, refreshing breath of fresh, clean mountain air. Don’t forget to take with you water.
