Icicle Creek runs through Icicle Ridge and is connected with Wenatchee River. The river run starts at Snow Creek trail-head to Leavenworth Hatchery. It is 2.2 mi/3.5 km long, with a class 5 difficulty level and range from 700 to 2000 c.f.s.
The river is a great short run for expert and advanced kayak enthusiasts for a warm up before running the upper Icicle Creek or continue to Wenatchee River. The run starts through an impressive compilation of large boulders, goes under the trail head bridge with plenty of fun rapids, holes and has a dam that is about 2 ft/0.60 m high that you should be aware of.
At the end of the run, you reach the fish hatchery dam that backs up the river into a pool. Prepare to get wet in fresh, crystal clear cold water, take your gear with you, or plan an organized river trip and enjoy a fantastic white water kayak experience into the wild nature of Cascades.
