Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's many apple cultivations.
Icicle Creek runs through Icicle Ridge, joining the Wenatchee River. The river run starts at Snow Creek trail-head to Leavenworth Hatchery. It is 2.2 mi/3.5 km long, with a class 5 difficulty level and range from 700 to 2000 c.f.s.
The river is a great short run for expert and advanced rafting enthusiasts for a warm up before running the upper Icicle Creek or continue to Wenatchee River. The run starts through an impressive compilation of large boulders, it goes under the trail head bridge with plenty of fun rapids, holes.
Furthermore the run has a dam that is about 2 ft/0.60 m high that you should be aware of. At the end of the run, you reach the fish hatchery dam that backs up the river into a pool.
