Colocum Road is located between Wenatchee and Yakima Town. This road used to be part of a large network of routes, linking British Columbia with California. In earlier times, the area was also used by Native Americans as a rendezvous point.
The route is 30 mi/48 km long, about two hours drive, with minimal elevation gain, suitable for all skill levels. However, it is rough in some sections, especially on the north side of the route. The road is dirt, with broken rocks, gravel and rip-raps.
While descending from the northern side, you can enjoy amazing views of the Columbia River and the Cascade Mountains. Don’t forget to take a map and a compass or a GPS with you.
