Mad Lake Trail is located on the Cascade Mountain, after Wenatchee Lake. It is 20 mi/32 km long, out and back and has minimum elevation gain. The best time to bike this trail is from mid July to late October. This ride is not suitable for beginners because it is long, technically challenging and with loose, fine dirt terrain. For an advanced biker, this is a perfect trail.
The route goes uphill -downhill many times until you reach the crystal clear Mad lake at 3500 ft/1066 m. The single-tracks include steep, sharp switchbacks and a very technical section through a rock slide. Mad Lake Trail is a must for serious mountain bike lovers. Don’t forget to take with you plenty of water, energy snacks, a map and a compass.
