Rock Creek Area Trails is located on the Cascade Mountain, after Wenatchee Lake. It is 10.6 mi/17 km long, (loop trail) and has an elevation gain of 3470 ft/1057 m. The best time to bike this trail is from late summer to early fall. This ride is not suitable for beginners because it has a lot of uphill climbing and technical difficulties such as creek crossings, rocks and sharp switchbacks.
For an advanced biker, this is a perfect trail. In order to follow this route, a good physical condition is required because of the long steep climbs. Once you reach the top of Basalt Peak at 6000 ft/1828 m, the views are unbelievable and the downhill, lots of fun. Rock Creek Area Trail is a must for those who take mountain bike seriously. Don’t forget to take with you plenty of water, energy snacks, a map and a compass.
