Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's apple cultivations.
Kendal Peak Lakes is located on the Central Cascade Mountain. The trail is 9 mi/14 km long (out and back), about seven hours hike with an elevation gain of 1700 ft/518 m. The trail is open for snowshoeing from January through early March and is suitable for practitioners of all skill levels and ages, although a good physical condition is essential.
Kendal Peak Lakes Trail is a great and very popular route to enjoy snowshoeing and practice your skills. You will walk through dark forests, wide meadows, alpine scenery and untouched snow until you reach two small alpine ponds. The path is safe from snowdrifts but always check the weather forecast before you choose this trail and don’t forget to take with you a map and a compass.
