Scuba diving in Hermanus is mainly weather dependent and often subject to surge. The spot boasts about 32 species of soft corals including sea whips, sea fans and gorgonians and diverse marine species. It offers at both shores an entry dive as well as night dives.
Visibility here stands at 4-8 m/13-26 ft with water temperatures ranging between 10-22°C/ 50-71.6°F. Diving depths on the other hand, range between 9-40 m/ 29-131 ft. Some of the marine life expected here includes horse-fish, cuttlefish, octopus, shovel-nose lobsters just to mention a few.
The wall is located at the north of Sydney Harbour, at the south-eastern end of the Long Reef. This site is considered to be the best reef dive site on the north shore.
