John Martin is a huge lake, situated 17 mi/27.4 km east of Las Animas, Colorado.

The reservoir is one of the most well known in Colorado for its excellent water-sport activities and especially wakeboarding.

The nearby John Martin Park provides many opportunities for outdoor activities, offering at the same time magnificent scenery with rich wildlife. The extended shoreline is one of the few that remained for nestling of almost extinct animals and birds such as Piping Plover and Interior Least Tern.
