Mountain High Ski Resort, Wrightwood
Mountain High ski resort is located in San Gabriel Mountains, along State Route 2, west of Wrightwood, Los Angeles County, California.
The 45 mi (72.42 km) long lake’s capacity is 648000 ac/2622 km² on a very low desert elevation of 482 ft (146.91 m). The concrete dam that makes a glorious arch was built between 1934 and 1938 by the United States Bureau of Reclamation.
There are two aqueducts that need to be filled with water and that is exactly the lake’s primary purpose. Except from that purpose, the lake is also available for fun and especially Knee boarding.
It is an ideal hot spot for knee boarders with its size, the perfect climate and the warm glassy water. You can have fun knee boarding by the shorelines, admiring at the same time the magnificent scenery of the canyon and the Desert Mountains that surround you.
Knee boarding is a challenging sport, because it requires a lot of concentration to balance on the board while you get your knees on top of the board, but if you do it once then it will be easy enough for you. Nearby shops and schools will provide you with the necessary equipment and teach you how to exercise your favorite sport, if you are a novice boarder.
