There is a vast number of great surf breaks close to Hobart. Seven Mile Point lies at the southern end of Seven Mile beach and close to Hobart International Airport. It is an exposed point break that rarely breaks, but when it does, it is a great place to surf. Offshore winds blow from the west, northwest and the ideal swell direction is from the south, southwest.
Here you can explore the waves with swell sizes from 2 m/6 ft and holds up to 2.5 m-3 m/8 ft-10 ft. The best tide movement is falling tide and the ideal tide position is all tides. In summer, the wind blows offshore at 35%, in autumn the wind blows at 47%, in winter at 47% and in spring at 44%. The best period for waves is winter when the average maximum sea temperature is 12°C /53.6°F.
The site is suitable surfers of all levels. Finally, apart from surfing you can visit Hobart as it offers a variety of accommodation options, exquisite restaurants, trendy cafes and bars. Note: watch out for rips, rocks and localism.
