Taking place every summer and starting from Leadville’s town, the race follows a 100 mi/161 km long trail, all the way out and back again through the rough mountain, reaching an elevation of 12424 ft/3786 m high. The majority of the trails take you through the forest and onto mountain roads. The terrain is mainly dirt and rocky along with some few sections of pavement.
