Prickly Pear Cays are a pair of uninhabited islands, the Prickly Pear East and the Prickly Pear West. They are about at 9.6 km/6 mi in the north-western of Anguilla. Anguiila belongs to the Leeward Islands in Caribbean Sea. It is located on the north of Saint Martin and on the west of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
Prickly Pear Reef is situated in the northern side of Prickly Pear East. The average depth is at 5 m/16.4 ft while the maximum depth is about at 17 m/55.8 ft. The sea is mostly calm. During the months of August and December, the hurricane period influence the weather conditions. That means that unpredictable forecasts like rainstorms are usual. Fortunately their duration is short.
The marine park that has been designed is adorable. A wide variety of marine life like crabs, goatfish, labsters, barracuda,groupers, angelfish, butterfly fish, sea turtles and snappers are usual seen. Additionally you may have the opportunity to come across nurse sharks that possibly will be resting at the sandy bottom of the reef.
