Skateboarding is a very popular sport all over Germany and especially in Berlin. You will meet skateboarders all over the city, on the stairs, on the streets, in parks and on anything that can be ridden by a skateboard! One very popular, skateboarding place among skateboarders is Mellowpark. Mellowpark is situated on the Spree providing the majestic landscape of the old town of Köpenick.
It is a mostly outdoor and indoor area of 60000 m²/645830 ft² that offers various sporting activities. Skateboarding in that area is practiced almost everywhere. In the skatehalle, where the ping pong hall was, is the indoor spot where you can have fun with the rolling board. The bowl is hard and it shows no mercy. It is a must for every advanced skateboard athlete.
The skatepark is not ready yet, but it will set new standards from next year. You can always skateboard at the BMX area, just be careful because it is really crowded!
There you will find the legendary Bielfield halfpipe, the TNT ramp, a 20 m (65.7 ft) wide mini ramp with various extensions, elevators and wall rides, the Rudi Resterampe with wall ride, box, spine and various other obstacles and the Wickes Woody, which is a mini ramp landscape with a hip, a Doppelcopingspine, an embedded table on the further ramp and a massive Subbox.
It is a skate boarding heaven. You should take under consideration that there is a per hour fee for skate boarding.
