West Wittering is situated on the South Coast and it is a popular destination for a number of water-sports. Apart from amazing views of Chichester Harbour, West Wittering also provides high water quality and excellent facilities. The beach is suitable for novice and advanced kiters alike. The best wind direction is from the northeast and the ideal swell direction is from the southwest.
In addition, swell sizes can start from 1 m/3 ft and hold up to 2 m/6 ft. It has a great area to launch and land your kite due to the size of the beach, however kiters should keep a distance off people sunbathing and swimming. In summer, the wind blows offshore at 9%, in autumn the wind blows at 7%, in winter at 8% and in spring at 11%. Finally, there are kite-surfing schools, training centers and shops, in case you need. Note: be careful of buoys and rips.
