Hurghada is one of the most interesting diving regions in the world. The wonderful waters of the Red Sea and the beauty of the coral reefs make Hurghada an excellent diving site. The visibility is between 10 m/32.8 ft to 50 m/164 ft, depending on the sea currents and the dive site. From El Gouna till Safaga, including the islets long side the coastline, the entire area offers many diving spots.
Amongst the most popular sites is Abu Ramada North, called the ‘Aquarium’ due to its big variety and density of fish populations, and Erg Abu Ramada but only for expert divers. Furthermore, the wrecks from an Egyptian mine sweeper in El Minya are also very popular as spots among divers. The average depth of these waters is at approximately 30 m/98.4 ft.
Most of these sites are suitable for all levels ability and some are only addressed to experienced divers. The incredible variety, the groovy temperatures, the calm and relaxing style of the area and the many diving choices make Hurghada a very attractive destination for the underwater fans!
