"Jordan Sarrou"

I’m Jordan SARROU, I’m a French mtb rider and I live In Monistrol sur Loire in France. I’m riding for BH Sr Suntour KMC team since 2014. Last year I was in U23 category, this year I’m racing in elite catégorie.

My cousin encouraged me to race when I was young. I enjoy riding my bike to get the best results. And I love discovering a new countries thanks to mountain biking.


INTERVIEW

What are you looking for to accomplish?

I would like to get my Olympic qualification for 2016, in the long term to get world championship title and Olympic title.

What would be your greatest achievement?

My first European title in 2013 and my world cup overall title last year.

What kind of difficulties does your sport’s performance involve?

Be consistent in every weekend race and adaptation at the Elite level. Travel too all around the world.

What makes you feel satisfied when performing your sport?

All the hours spent on the bike to suffer, to be the best of the day, and concession all around. That allows me to thank my relatives too.

Where do you practice your techniques when being alone?

I often train alone, so in my hometown where the tracks are sick, technical with roots, but I also spend some time on my road bike.

What do you do during your training which is key to your success?

Just have fun, and take pleasure. Even if it’s not so simple every time.

What are you most nervous about when competing?

Not to have a technical problem ex: flat tire …, but also an injury during the weekend.

Who would you say is your biggest fan and why?

My parents are my biggest fans, they try to follow me in every race, and thanks to them I‘m where I’m now.

What is the best piece of advice you have been ever given?

Have your head on your shoulders, and remember why I’m riding MTB: for pleasure!

What are your future plans?

To settle with my girlfriend, to race as a professional as long as possible in mtb, kids in the long term.

What are your tips for those who begin now?

To take some pleasure on the bike, not to bother too much, and surround yourself with good people.
