Located at the eastern side of Oregon, Anthony Lakes is an amusing destination once you feel like taking your board and sloping down the hills of the resort.
A lot of people gather here from the nearby cities, especially on weekends. This ski area of 1100 ac/4.45 km² has a lot to offer to its visitors, with the annual snowfall reaching up to 25 ft/7.62 m. The summit is at 8000 ft/2438 m and there is both Alpine and Nordic terrain.
There are runs for beginners, but the terrain is more suitable for intermediate and advanced athletes. The Nordic area features 18 mi/30 km of groomed trails, 14% is for beginners, 26% for advanced athletes and 60% for experts. There are regular nordic events organised in the ski area, so you would rather check the schedule.
Three lifts serve the area and the longest run you can find is 1.5 mi/2.42 km. Closest cities are La Grande and Baker City, however there aren’t many options regarding hotels nearby and you should better make reservations just to make sure.
You can find rentals at the ski area, so no worries about that. Anthony Lakes resort will most certainly justify your choice and the Blue Mountains are definitely worth visiting.
