A well known summit of Newberry Volcano is Paulina Peak, the host of many extreme sports. This volcanic area is located near the cities of Bend and La Pine.

The summit reaches up to 7985 ft/2433 m and the skiable vertical is over 3000 ft/914.4 m. The road to the top is covered with gravel and its north side is very appealing for downhill descents.

There are a lot of trails, ready to be explored on this peak, most are for intermediate athletes and others easier, but offering great experiences and a view to remember. There are also untouched sides of the mountain for the ones seeking more adrenaline rush.

The north Paulina peak does not attract many people, it is more of a snowmobile trail. There is also Paulina Peak Road with elevation at 6350 ft/1935 m, an out and back trail of 8 mi/12.8 km, quite an easy one, but the view is worth trying it. NW Chutes and NE Bowl are two more trails also at 6350 ft/1935 m and the most exciting sides are the northeast and northwest. Both are steep trails with lava formations, creating some interesting ski terrain.

There are plenty of hotels near La Pine and restaurants too for the relaxation moments, when not practicing your favorite sport.
