Wellfleet is 9.2 mi/14.8 km far from the beach. It is seething with tourists in the summer and you will be able to find plenty of places to eat and spend the night. Considering the beach access, you have to leave your car at the parking and then take the trolley in order to reach the beach. There is frequent schedule though and it is only a few minute ride.
The waves here are relatively big but not very strong, more or less 100–150 m/328–492 ft long but can reach up to 300 m/984 ft. If you are a beginner in kitesurfing, you have to mind the big waves.
You find big waves mostly in fall, but if you visit earlier in the season, they will be easier to handle. In the overall, it has fair weather but there are times it’s being hit by extreme weather situations.
