Kirkwood is a well known resort for having one of the highest average snowfalls and a big selection of advanced ski terrain, making it perfect for skiers. Its 2 mi/3.2 km ridge-line at the top makes it a unique location. Before the lifts, you can locate Kirkwood Ski Education Foundation (KSEF), which offers numerous training programs for all ages and abilities.
Its vertical drop is 2000 ft/609.6 m and its top elevation is at 9800 ft/2987 m. Base elevation is at 7800 ft/2377 m and skiable area covers 2300 ac/9.30 km². It has 65+ runs total, of which 15% for beginners, 50% for intermediate and 35% for advanced skiers. Longest run is 2.5 mi/4 km.
The lift system has 15 lifts with 2 high speed quads, 6 triple chairs, 2 surface lifts, 1 tubing lift, 1 fixed-grid quad, 1 double chair and 2 magic carpets. Terrain parks are Burton Progression Park, Border X Course, Burton Adventure Land and K2 Stomping Grounds. Snowfall is about 500Â in/1270 cm.
