Berthoud Pass is located between Idaho Springs and Winter Park and is one of the closest areas in Denver for skiing. It belongs to Boulder County and is just an hour away.
The top of the pass is at 11307 ft/3446 m and has access to a wide array of backcountry stashes. It is one of the earliest ski areas in Colorado with an annual snow fall of 300 in/762 cm. Mary Jane is on of the best places for skiing. Vertical drop is 2610 ft/795.5 m. Maximum run length is 4.5 mi/2.2 km.
Top elevation is 11200 ft/3414 m and base elevation 9450 ft/2880 m. Level of runs is 1% for beginners, 19% intermediate, 22% advanced, 57% most difficult and 1% experts only.
There is a lift system of 25 lifts, including the Village Cabriolet, seven high speed express quads, six double chairlifts, two high speed six pack lifts, four triplets, one rope tow, three surface lifts and one platter. The lift capacity is 40000 riders/hour. There is snow making in 299 ac/1.21 km² for 26 trails.
