The Montgenèvre Ski Resort lies in the southwest part of the Alps, in the Cottian Alps in southeast France in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur. The Cottian Alps form the borderline between France and Italy and many Ski resorts have premises in both countries and they are interlinked. The Montgenèvre Ski Resort is part of the famous ''Milky Way'' Ski Area, which is a hosting arena for many national and international competitions.
Montgenevre is one of the smallest resorts, but also one of those rare resorts that have everything, perfect for families as everything is within walking distance. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from one side of the resort to the other and is home to 38 different lifts. The ski school for beginners is great as the instructors speak very good English and are very friendly. There is also a blue slope which is easy for beginners to learn on.
Although this is a great place for beginners and intermediate skiers, it’s not the best for expert riders, but does have a few black slopes for more experienced riders. There are lots of facilities here which make the resort the family friendly place that really is, with lots of restaurants, a cinema, bars and other snow facilities such as snow mobiling. The resort is located only at one hour 30 minutes from Turin and two hours 30 minutes from Grenoble.
