Cleveland is the most populous city in the state of Ohio and the county seat of Cuyahoga County, United States of America. It is located in the northeastern Ohio right on the southern shore of Lake Erie, only 60 mi/97 km west of the Pennsylvania border.

If you are a fun of snow sports and especially snowboarding, there is a place near Cleveland, Ohio made for you, the Big Creek Ski Area. It is a 23 ac/93078 m² terrain that stands on a hill, having the best elevation in Ohio and is situated in the heart of the Snowbelt.

When snowboarding in this resort, you can begin your adventure at an elevation of 1290 ft/393 m and reach up to 1465 ft/446 m. The vertical drop is 175 ft/53.3 m, making the runs perfect for fast snowboarding. There are 5 runs in total, the expert one is the Zot, a nearly vertical double black diamond, passing through and surrounded by trees, covering 20% of trails.

Other trails are the Estes Bowl, which is exactly as named, a bowl when gazing to the bottom of the trail, the Easy Street, an enjoyable run that covers the western side of the hill, the Show Off trail, a hill with an observation deck, excellent for your viewing pleasure and The Chute that wraps around the chalet, perfect for snowboarders who love to race down challenging trails.

Another asset of this amazing resort is the annual snowfall of 102 in/260 cm. But even if mother nature won’t gift this place with snow, there is always the snow making equipment, ready to fill it with snow!
