The city has a rich history to demonstrate, home to the oldest train depot in the state and the oldest working county courthouse. Right outside the city, at about 22 mi/32 km away, the Bluewood ski area is located at the northern end of the Blue Mountains.
The summit of the mountain is 5670 ft/1728 m high and has a vertical drop of 1125 ft/343 m. The ski resort is perfect for snowboarding and very well organized with four green circles, twelve blue squares and eight black diamonds for the experienced snowboarders. It also provides with two terrain parks and six back country runs. Bluewood is known for its dry powder snow and tree snowboarding.
The resort facilities include lifts, a coffee shop and a pub, patrol services, snowboard lessons for beginners, full service snowboard rental department and a retail shop. No matter if you are a beginner or an experienced snowboarder, Bluewood Ski Area is a great destination where you can enjoy fresh mountain air and lots of powder snow during winter.
