Bondi beach is the widest and most famous beach in the Sydney region. It is located in the suburb of Bondi, at just 7 km/4 mi from the center of Sydney. This spot is a combination of great surf with good food and idyllic atmosphere.
At the Northern end, surfers can explore the waves with swell sizes from 3 ft/1 m to 8 ft/2.5 m. The best tide movements is rising and falling tides. The beach is aproppriate for all kind of surfers.
Offshore winds blow from the North. At summer the wind blows offshore at 9%, at autumn the wind blows at 16%, at winter at 29% and at spring at 17%. The best period for surfing is in summer or early autumn because the average water temperature is 21°C/69.80°F. If you get tired struggling with the waves, the Bondi Pavilion Community Centre offers you some spiritual activities, like theater and art gallery.
There are plenty of accomodation options to suit every taste and every budget. Last but not least, visitors can enjoy the magnificent view of the sea in one of the many cafes and restaurants that lie on the streets around the beach.
