Mossel Bay is a beautiful coast, located in between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, at 400 km/248 mi of distance both ways. The Outer Pool is considered to have consistent waves in Mossel Bay and one of the best in South Africa. The route here is mostly a point break right direction and accommodates the experienced surfer. Swells start working at 1.5 m/5 ft and holds up to 4 m/12 ft. During the summer months of November to February, it can get really crowded but still doable. Hazards here include urchins, rocks and sharks.
