The waves of Paul do Mar will definitely make you a successful surfer, because this exposed reef break has the right conditions for surfing. The best swell direction is from the west. In autumn and winter there are the best waves, with swell size from 2 to 3 m (6.5-10 ft) and sometimes with swell size more than 3 m (10 ft).
The wind blows offshore at 34% and 37% respectively. In the summer, there are waves with swell size from 1.3 to 2 m (4-6.5 ft) and the wind blows offshore at 25%, while in the spring the waves have the same swell size and the wind blows offshore at 35%.
