The spot is located in Calheta, on the southwest coast of a Portuguese archipelago island, Madeira. It’s well known as a fishing village, because of the big variety of fish the Atlantic ocean provides it with. The swell size starts working at 1,5-2m/ 5-6 ft and holds up to  4m+ / 12ft. The best swell direction is from the west. The best waves are observed in autumn and winter. The wave swell size is between 2 and 3m (6,5-10ft) and the wind blows offshore at 34% and 37% respectively.
In the summer, we have waves with swell size from 1,3 to 2m (4-6,5ft) and the wind blows offshore at 25%, while in the spring the waves have the same swell size and the wind blows offshore at 35%. There is a windsurf school in Paul do Mar, in case you need.
