Torbole, Malcesine and Limone, in Garda Lake area, in north Italy, are considered to be the paradise of windsurfers, not only in Italy but in entire Europe as well, thanks to the excellent weather conditions.
Between 7am and 9am, ”Peler or Vento”, caused by the temperature difference between the cool air from the mountains and the warmer air from the valley, creates the stronger wind of the day, ideal for early ”riding down the wind”. The afternoon wind, ”Ora” is not so strong as Peller but it lasts longer. Championships, Regate and many national events are taking place every year at the top part of the Lake Garda.
The northern part of Lake Garda is reserved to windsurfers and sailors as ”open water zone”. Waterskiing and jet-skiing is not allowed in that part of the Lake. There are many windsurfing schools and shops -all with quality services- for renting windsurfing gear. There are also many qualified instructors, ready to help all windsurfers from beginners to more advanced practitioners.
